The
High Desert Pipes &
Drums prides itself
as a teaching band. Piping
and drumming tutors are
available for students
of all levels. Classes
are free providing you
consider performing with
the band once your playing
is acceptable.
Lessons
for aspiring bagpipers and determined drummers are held each
Thursday night starting at 6:00 PM
Sandia Prepatory
School
532 Osuna Rd. NE,
Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Directions
Lessons
are held in the school's music room (Building 500) on the
south side of the campus quadrangle, east of the gym.
Lessons last about 1 hour and all students are welcome to
stay and hear the band practice. All students are
required to join the band as student members after one
month.
Bagpipe students are required
to provide their own practice
chanter. Chanter lessons are broken
down into 5 steps. Each step or class has a scheduled
lesson plan and testing schedule.
Drum students are required to provide their own sticks and
practice pad.
E-mail
the Pipe Major if
the skirl of the pipes is too tempting to resist and you would
like information about receiving instruction for drumming
or piping.
